Our advert is based on Volvic water and how it can help improve someone's life. In the video we see Raymond walking up to a drinking fountain and taking a sip of water and disliking the taste, we then see a close up reaction shot of him disliking the taste of the water. At this moment music starts to play and we see Jordan emerge from around the corner with a bottle of volvic in his hands and two girls beside him (Nada and Shaniz). Jordan then walks past Raymond and we then see a long shot of everything with a bottle of volvic sitting on the side. The words "fresh", "clean" and "wingman".
What went well in this assignment was that the filming stage took less than a few hours, also the editing. This was good since our original idea didn't go so well and it had meant we were running out of time. What pleased me about making this advert was the simplicity, and the team i was working with.
Since we did other video assignments together before it meant we were familiar with each others skills and qualities.Im very pleased about the editing and effects in this advert, i feel that Jacq (editor) did a great job of putting everything together. I also like the different camera angles/shots.
Compared to a professional advert for volvic there are a few differences. One of the most obvious ones would be that Volvic tend to advertise their product with the slogan "live young" and show little babies. However Volvic have started to move over to the animated/puppet side of advertising.

One of the persuasive techniques in this advert would be the bandwagon effect. This meaning that you should join the crowd or be on the winning side by using the product and getting it's perks (buy volvic and get the girls).
I think this product would
be successful in selling, one reason being because when looking at
other water based adverts not many have the comedy appeal so our advert stands
out. However to say that drinking this water will get you girls is an exaggeration to say the least.
The target audience for our advert is aimed at teenagers, this can be seen from the cast of the advert who look like young adults/teenagers. The start of the advert also says 'lets examine how volvic improves college life', which is where teens go.
When looking at the feedback most of the classmates found the advert to be funny and likes the use of shots throughout the video. The only negative pointed out was that the advert should be a bit longer but i don't think this is a liable flaw as adverts which drag on tend to bore the audience.
When looking at aspects of the video which i was displeased about, i would say the frame rate. Because we were using a low end DSLR the max FPS we could get was 24 which mad the video look sluggish.
In order to avoid this problem again in the future we should work with cameras which can reach 60+fps
